WHAT ARE P&PS?
P&Ps (Policies & Procedures) are the recipe that can influence how well your enterprise will function. P&Ps spell out the expectations that the combined group has for its staff, owners and affiliates. In many ways the P&P’s are the complete "rule book" defining appropriate behavior and performance over time.

WHY DO I NEED P&PS?
You, Your Clients and Your Allies already have P&Ps even if they have never been formalized. This fact can be a stumbling-block to advancement. Well written P&Ps can serve many critical functions, including:
  • Clarification of expectations for interaction
  • Guideposts for behavior
  • Protection of Intellectual Property and company secrets
  • Aid in recruiting, sustaining and training talent

WHY DOES OUR GROUP NEED P&PS?

By example: In 2007 the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) reported companies paid out $378 million in decision suits. EEOC received 82,792 complaints that year. With review of local counsel, having clear EEOC-related policies in place can help demonstrate your intentions to protect those around you in a tangible form.

WHO HAS FORMALIZED P&PS (IN WRITING)?
Many groups of many kinds, but it would appear that at the small to mid-sized enterprise level a vast number rely of "Common Understanding."

ARE P&PS DIFFICULT TO DEVELOP?
