Internet Planning (Part3) Final

This article is the last in a set of linked articles, tools and considerations related to the Internet.

Protection
Being properly positioned on the Internet is no longer simply important, it is critical, which makes the protection and security of your presence there equally critical.

In assessing and acting on your business / family ( yes… that is right) security, it is important to:
1. Treat the web like your office or home
2. Do NOT invent your own security measures
3. Form working relations with true experts that you trust
4. Move forward with a plan and a calendar-based review for your protection in whatever you touch on the web

Above all else BE PROACTIVE in considering the web as an open two-way forum that offers boundless opportunity as well as the potential for distinct threat and act accordingly.

Planning
When it comes to the internet:
1. The better you plan, the farther you can reach into the business (and social) world
2. The best and only fully effective plans must be in writing
3. Due to the constant evolution of everything on the web, visiting / assessing / adjusting your plans on a calendar basis is a critical step
4. Having at least “Two sets of eyes” understand your plans, will give them life

For your business, branding and planning remember that your approach to the internet is vital, because the internet is a wide open door to everywhere that we live, work and thrive.

The critical point to remember is that the internet has progressively evolved from a highly significant part of business, to a critical function touching all aspects of our business (and for some personal) lives.

This evolution has not yet reached a state approaching moderation, therefore systematic and cyclical internet - focused planning should be on all business development agendas.

Please remember that the primary TRG planning rules apply:
1. If it is not in writing it, does not exist
2. Two sets of (independent) eyes on ease element of the plan
3. A calendar to everything.

Q:     What do you see as the key emerging uses of the internet in the provision of services to enhance student living?

A:    A wide array of services have become essential to the emerging life-style of the New Student, including: enhancements in the presentation of course work; the new world-wide-wide entertainment network; and in the fundamentals of interpersonal communication.

Q:    What surprising applications of the internet have you found for your field in recent time?

A:    The way in which our clients elect to communicate directly with us through “short burst” messages, including Tweets, Texts and via Facebook.  As a result we have adjusted the way in which we ‘talk’ to our clients to match their style.

Q:     What have been the "Best Uses" of the Internet for you?

A:    Product opportunities, issue resolution, and the ‘acquisition’ of user preferences by reaching to a large number of students all at once.

Q:     What should be avoided when dealing with the Internet?

A:    Making assumptions of any kind without studying and asking how students are using electronic media is to be avoided at all costs.

Q:     Which next steps related to the internet might you recommend?

A:    Our student clients are the pioneers in a new global culture.  Asking them what they see happening next is of ultimate value.  We do our best to both observe and understand their ‘consumption trends.’

I am most pleased to announce the addition of Robert (Bob) Pizzimenti as a TRG Associate.

Bob personifies the best of advisors to leaders of organizations both large and small with a focused, life-long expertise in enhancing the sales mechanisms of local, national and international entities.

As part of the TRG team, Bob has begun to bring focus to the planning of individuals seeking to adjust their efforts as entrepreneurs and leaders.

Bob’s offering corresponds with TRG’s basic message to all of our readers: In the absence of structured plans that reflect intentions over time, we run the risk of not living up to our full potential.
At TRG, we are committed to helping all of us move from results locked in our minds, to plan-driven efforts that are expressed, measured and tied to the calendar.

Welcome to Bob from the TRG Team
.

Best,
